    DefaultJumping at Cars

Zoey, my chocolate lab has been jumping at cars. I have her on a leash so she doesn't get hurt but how do I deter her from doing this.* Yes, I walk her 45min a day and take her to the dog park to play too. She has just turned 9months.*

Where is she when you are walking her? at front? at heel?

I would keep her at heel and give her a verbal 'LEAVE IT' if she makes an attempt to jump at cars. If she doesn't respond to the verbal, pop the leash lightly to get her attention and guide her back into position. Praise good behavior.

Every time a car goes by, stop and wait until she looks at you. Once she does, tell her Yes! and give her some cookies or play a short game with her that she really likes. Try not to prompt the look but just wait for it. If you are consistent with this, she will soon see cars as a cue to look at you and get some good stuff, so you instead of tire chasing, you will get an automatic watch.
