    DefaultFoamy, slober...??

Whenever Rowan eats she comes away from her bowl with this white, foamy, slober around her mouth.
Is she just 'drooling' over her own food as she eats it?? :-[

some dogs have foamy drool, some have slimy drool, and some have drippy, watery drool.
    guess which one you have?
dogs drool for all kinds of reasons: taste buds tingle, dog gets excited, dog gets stressed, dog is sick, etc.

    LOL!
in all seriousness, are you concerned that there might be a health problem?
heavy drooling or foamy mucous around the mouth along with pale gums, shallow breathing, restlessness...those kinds of symptoms need vet attention.

It is just when she eats. There isn't very much. And by the time she has been out and had her pee it is gone. Her gums and breath are fine. She has had two puppy wellness visits in the past 4 weeks and he said she was fine.

I will remember your info though for future.

Brigetta has drippy, watery drool. I use the "wait" command before she eats and while she's waiting drool just runs out of the sides of her mouth...YUCK!

Rowan doesn't seem to drool while waiting it is when she comes away from her bowl afterward.

for fyi, here is just one link on bloat: http://www.puplife.com/dogblog/archi..._28_index.html

there are several posts on this topic as well. just do a search to learn more. i'm not saying it's bloat, but since you are going to remember for future reference...

back in my lab fostering days, i had one foster who always had foamy drool, which would be wiped on my clothes or the furniture. normally i don't put blankets on our furniture, but i seriously considered doing it just for this one slobbery foster, but by the time the slipcovers arrived, he got adopted.

Some dogs also do this when they are excited. I noticed at the Lab Fest this weekend, there were 2-3 of them with foamy snouts, lips, mouths...it was from the excitement of being around a pack of other Wild labbys

CoCo gets foamy whenever we take her for a walk - even if its only 30 minutes!
