DefaultCoCo slept in our room last night (not her crate)!

For the first time at home, CoCo slept out of her crate last night... She is just shy of 8 months old, and so far hasn't destroyed anything that belongs to her OR us (besides a few cheap toys and flip flops)... so we thought we would give it a try...

She did GREAT! We took her blanket from her crate and put it in her wicker bed.... well, we said "go to bed" like we say when we put her in her crate at night, and she went to her blanket! I guess its the blanket that's her bed, not the crate...

She stayed there ALL night! We even left the door open in the bedroom. She did start to bark when the paper boy delivered our newspaper, so that was a bit startling... and my alarm startled her at 6:00am... so we're even, lol!

So I think we'll try it again EXCEPT we need to lose the wicker bed... it creaked ALL night when she moved and she can't really stretch out... so we'll get her a stuffed dog bed and throw her crate blanket over it for a little while until she gets used to it.

Of course, we're still crating her during the day when we are out, but this is the first in many steps we'll take to allowing her freedom in the house.

    Way to go, Coco!!

Check out Costco for dog beds. We got Tucker a big one for like $25. a few years ago and it is still in great condition.

Way to go Coco! We tried with Miles. He's not ready yet. He's not even 6 mos old yet, so it's a bit early for him!
