I finally made the leap.
Shadow is going to Puppy Kindergarten starting Aug. 5.
I chatted with the trainer on the phone yesterday. He doesn't allow "unsupervised" puppy play.
The interesting part will be that the class is going to be in French....*wimper* but my husband and kids will be there so my hubby can translate for me. (I live in Quebec, mainly French-speaking province and I'm an English only speaker )
I'll update on this after the first lesson.
Good luck! I have a random question...do you use both French and English commands with Shadow?
Teresa, mom to Brigetta and Prudence
One of my dogwalking clients (now moved away) was a border collie that learned french obedience commands.. Ici! Couchez! sound so much better than "COME!" "DOWN!"
Have fun at Puppy-K!
Actually I only use English with Shadow because I don't know enough French to give the commands in French. I have what a lot of Canadians have (what I call cereal box French. Both languages are on all packaging in Canada...so many can "read" simple French from packages like...cereal )
However for "practical" French I have very little. I guess I'll be learning some in Puppy K.
My husband however speaks both languages. I think he uses a little French with Shadow.
Good luck in your puppy class! It will be a great socializing experience for Shadow.
