    DefaultSwimming Pools

This last weekend, Allie FINALLY learned to swim in a pool vs a lake. She has been in the pool a lot lately (3 days in a row). My question is, should I be worried about dry skin? Shannon thinks shes itching more than normal... We have removed all collars to allow her to dry out each day. I've heard that scrambled eggs will help a dogs skin and coat, is this a myth or a fact? If its a fact, do you think it will upset her stomach if shes never had eggs? Anything else work good on possible dry skin? Should we limit her swimming more in pools?

Scrambled eggs are good protein but for coat help, a raw egg in the food weekly is better...nutrients aren't cooked out.

As for the pool...she'll stop itching less as long as you rinse her off with regular hose water after she's done swimming. I do this with Rider and it's great. He's in our pool all summer long.

Yes all my dogs swim in my pool. Just rinse them off when done. I use Dermcaps for the coat and preventing dry skin.

An egg eh? Just crack it and throw it into her food once a week?

We throw some canned salmon in Larry's food once or twice a week to keep his coat from getting too dry. It works pretty well.
