Extinction bursts.. for all the barkers and biters here...
Just a ray of hope for you all that are dealing with problem barkers and chewy puppies... there's a phenomenon known as an extinction burst - similar to a child's temper tantrum. If a dog that has always barked for attention (and received it) is consistently ignored, you may find him throwing his all into one last ditch, no holds barred bark fest. Wait it out. Chances are very good if you can get through without giving him/her attention, the barking/biting will cease.

without specific guidance, geared in ''severity'' for the individual personality of the dog, you will, i promise, be old & grey, if not cold in the ground, before ANY undesirable behavior goes away on its own.
it is our job, indeed obligation, as Pack Leader to show our dogs what is acceptable or not. expecting them to understand another entire culture [the human one] without doing the hard work of guidance & training is IMO irresponsible at best.
dogs have NOTHING to do all day but think about how to interact with you, the more interaction the better...it is up to us to show them what is acceptable interaction.
and IMO although biting/nipping is unpleasant for owners, barking can be and frequently is a death sentence for many dogs, as constant complaints from neighbors cause them to be abandoned at pounds all the time.
