    Defaultpuppy problems

    Hi All,

Tasman was doing really well with house training. Never soiled his
crate and we were down to appr. 3 accidents a week. Usually due to
    us not paying attention.

Anyway the last 2 mornings I was taken him out of his crate he has
pooped in his crate during the night. And this morning it was very
mash potato like. If you know what I mean.

The strange thing is he does not bark or let us know during the
night AND does it in the middle of his crate so he almost lies in
it. My understanding was that most dogs do not soil their dens and
if they have to would do it in the furthest corner from where they
    are sleeping.

Anyway this morning I (obviously) cleaned up put the devider back in
so he only has half his crate size. Does anybody have any other
advise? He is a 12 week old now and is not crying or whining
in his crate at all. He sometimes goes in there during the day as
well. I did give him a large bone yesterday maybe that has
contributed to the loose stool. Also he had his last 12 week
vaccination on Saturday and received some ear drops. Do you think he
    is just not feeling well?

    All advise welcome, thanks heaps!!
    Eve

Some dogs can't tolerate bones and get diarrhea. I would keep the divider in and firm him up with some yogurt and pumpkin.

Wow... I had nightmares about Ender having accidents in his crate, especially when he was sick-ish last week with the loose stools and stuff. *He never did go in his crate or in the house so I don't think I can offer any advice there... just my hope he feels better soon.

How late are you feeding him? Maybe cut his meal time back or take him out before bedtime (if you don't already).

Maybe he was sick and that's the cause of the accidents. ???

We are feeding him between 5 and 6 pm so that should be early enough right?

No I have not had him checked for worms but his stool seems to firm up a little. I am afraid it was probably the bone he could not handle. The thing that worries me most is that he is starting to soil his crate...(he had never done that) I think I will set my alarm clock tonight and get him up in the middle of the night to take him out.

    I will keep you posted!

Good morning (we are in New Zealand so we have a huge time difference) last night was fine. I forgot to set my alarm ooops and when I woke at 6.35 am I heard nothing so I thought "oh dear".

Anyway got up right away Tasman is in his crate sleeping I woke him up took him outside did wee & poo and went back in the check the crate. Expecting something but found NOTHING!!

Just a warm bed so I am really hoping this was a small hick-up and he will not be getting any bones!
Oh I am so relieved!! Thank you all for trying to help, it's such a blessing having so many experts so close

    THANKS HEAPS!
