    DefaultSmall lumps and black dots

    Hi everyone.

I picked up Oscar my 9 week old lab from the breeder yesterday.

All night he has scratching himself. Ive had a good look and cannot see any actual fleas but there is definately what l think is flea debris. Oscar also has little lumps which could be bites or cuts from scratching.

hes too young for flea shampoo.

    What do you recommend?

    Thanks

i would call a vet for advice, the pup should go into the vet for a check up ASAP anyway (generally it is recommended to bring the puppy in for a check up within a few days of getting them). However, if the puppy has had vaccinations make sure to advocate that he not be re-vaccinated right away.

i'd go to the vet, get a bottle of dawn detergent and give a gentle bath.

I would get a flea comb and if you find any fleas I would drop the fleas in Dawn detergent but wash the puppy with puppy shampoo and apply a flea preventative.

i suggested the dawn, because it was what was used on the birds during the oil spill. gentle enough for birds.

and i do love dawn, as i use it for all stains on clothes , instead of those stain sticks that dont work on grease.
