My puppy who is almost 7 months old, just acts like a plain ole' fool when people come around to our house. Flying leaps, running in circles, rolling all over. I know it's that he is so excited, but he will calm down, right?

no - you have to train him how to greet people. you need to keep him on leash and get the help of a friend or two. he gets no attention until he does a nice sit. If you allow him to keep doing that he will keep doign it (and same result if you were to crate him when people came - he won't learn)

how much training have you done with him in general? How much exercise does he get daily?

Thank you!!! We have been doing the basic training. He is potty trained, walks nice on leash, sits, stay, drop it, etc. Its just now when people come over, he is crazy. I will work on it thanks!

Oh I forgot to say he gets one 1 mile walk a day (it's exactly 1 mile for my exercise), and shorter ones with my teenagers.

My older Lab was a handful when people came over when he was that age and I would just crate him before they were due to arrive. I'd leave him in the crate for 30 minutes or so after their arrival. At that point the excitement would have worn off and I'd let him (calm and behaving appropriately) out of the crate to greet guests.

As he got older this became less of an issue.

leashed walks? that is very little for a young lab - they need to run and play daily

He will probably get calmer when he gets older but enjoy the pup years now while you have them. As others have said, train him to not get too out of control. Pretty normal for a dog that age to get worked up when visitors come.

Wow, over a mile daily isn't enough? How far should he be walked?

no not longer walks. he needs to run and play. playing with other dogs, fetch, swimming, i he has a recall and it is safe - off leash walks where he can walk ahead/around.

a walk doesn't physically tire them out physically. walks are a great part of a daily routine but not a way to burn of energy
