I see this was posted a few times, however, most of that ages were 6 months +. I have a 7 week old black lab, when should i start training with commands? Is it too early? She does not focus for a long time, kind of puppy all of the place demeaner. Should I wait until she is 3 months or older? Thank you
Start now. With that said puppies generally can't handle corrections until 4 months if you are using traditional training methods. Google clicker training, you can start now and not have to worry about stressing the pup out!

Find a puppy k class and enroll. They are a wonderful, stress free and safe environment for puppies that are not yet fully vaccinated. Look for a good trainer and stay away from places like Petco and the other chain stores. There is absolutely no reason to wait until a puppy is 4 months old to begin training and the socialization of a puppy k class is priceless.

Sometimes the hardest part isn't letting go - but learning to start over.
training at home starts the day they arrive. keep sessions very short but do many over the day. make everything a training opportunity. keep things happy and light.
you can do puppy classes before 6 months, these are GREAT for socialization (to people, new places, other dogs) and training (tips, tricks, practice in a new environment).

thank you so much everyone, she is a handful, but i am having a blast, will take all the recommendations and put them to use, i bought a really good book and i can tell she is learning already. the hardest part is leaving for work, she must know something is up and just lays on my feet. sooo adorable
If dogs do not go to heaven, then I prefer to follow them where they go.
Oh yeah tons of pics
