    DefaultChewing on me

This may be a silly question but I want to be on e right track training my pup. She seems like a pretty laid back pup but in the morning she is crazy hyper (who wouldn't be after being alone all night) and just wants to play. The problem is she constantly is nipping at me even after I give her toys. She will drop them and go straight for my legs, hands, pants.... I guess what I'm getting at is how to handle this? Do I just keep redirections her to her toys? Is there anything else that I should try? Am I on the right track?

I'm far from an expert, but yes redirect her. Maybe a stern sounding "NO" I'm new at Labs, but have owned several other dogs........in my opinion ~ dog teeth never belong on human skin. While it's cute and funny for a puppy, that puppy is going to grow fast into a strong big girl. I love my Jack and spoil him silly and let him get away with a lot of things I shouldn't, but that one just isn't up for debate at my house. Also let me say, I haven't been on this site for long and I was told when I asked my first "silly" question ~ there is no silly questions. If you want to know...ask. There are so many people here with so much knowledge, and I'm sure one of them will give you a better answer then I just did. You'll love the help you get here, and the feeling of genuine caring. Good luck with your little girl!

How old? There are literally hundreds of threads about mouthy/nippy puppies. You can use the search function. You can also see the "our best advice" sticky at the top of the puppy section.
