Luna is our 18 month old female, totally loving, mellow most of the time (except when she meets new people, dogs and bank tellers). Then she is a wiggly, licky, waggy, uncontrollable bundle of friendliness. She also abandons us at the dog beach to go and be with her new family that has dogs and fun toys that she takes.
When with us alone at home, she will sit, go down, and come....We still have to walk her with her pinch collar, she is so strong she can drag us down the street otherwise.
Our main complaint is that when there is the distraction of new people around, she is totally oblivious to our commands to come, sit, etc.
Any suggestions are welcome here, we are returning to the dog beach in Montana this summer, and would really like her to have a few manners, and not drag us down the hill to the lake where she loves to swim.
training. you have to train her to have manners - I highly recommend obedience classes. each command needs to be trained separately. start in a quiet environment (at home) then when they are consistent, slowly add distractions and also practice in new environments.

You've reinforced my gut feeling that we need to return to classes!
