DefaultMolly being submissive and peeing around other dogs

    Hey Now,

I have a peculair problem with Molly. She is super submissive with other dogs she doesn't know. She typically will roll over on her back when we encounter another dog walking and give the submissive pose...whether it is a german shephard or a minature poodle. Most often she will urinate a little bit on herself. After a little bit she realizes all is good and everyone is friends

We have been going to the dog park 2-3 times a week for about a month now working on socialization. She really is doing good there...for some reason while there she is submissive but not nearly as much as when we go walking on a leash. We get to the park, she rolls on her back once or twice, then runs and playswith the other dogs.

Reason why i bring this up is today while walking we stopped to talk to a neighbor who has a very easy going dog.molly got excited, switch to submissive on her back, and peed ALOT. She then proceeded to roll in it and got soaked.

Is there anything i can do change this behavior? I'd like her to have more confidence and to avoid messes.
    thanks for any advice!

I had a dog like this once. She did eventually grow out of it. I don't know how old your dog is - still a puppy?

Kate did that a few times when we were out training & she was younger. I don't know if she just got older & gained more confidence but she does not do it anymore. She is 3.

She should get better as she gains social maturity. Doing formal obedience lessons and or agility (which will help make her more confident) might be a good idea too.
