Defaultbest time to start 10 min training sessions

my moms beagle mix had puppies mixed with english setters we got 2 left out of 5 and we are starting there training to get them "adopted" sooner they are 2 1/2 months old and no sit and wait and lets go for a walk but i only do 5 min training sessions a day so it take a long time to teach them somthing new so would 10 minutes be to long or short for puppies at this age?

I am a first time dog owner of an 18 week old puppy. What has worked for me is getting as many short sessions an evening as I can. I think Layla gets around 3 training sessions a day plus her walks and/or trips to the dog park to run around. I have always tried to end them before she gets bored though. Sometimes that means just 5 minutes, sometimes that means 15. Also, I have found that rules and consistency works wonders.

short short frequent sessions really do work fastest both for the puppy and for me

my foster not quite 12 week old spaniel sits, downs, started stand yesterday, waits, goes in and out of crate on cue, is housetrained, makes eye contact, walks on lead ... every time I get bored I teach her something
