    DefaultChanging a rescue's bathroom time?

Hi all. I am back. You may recall that we rescued Ozzy (a lab/husky mix) about three weeks ago. All is going well, but Ozzy still will enter a crate. He is clearly terrified. But, putting that aside, there is a different issue. I always feed Yoyo (our lab) at around 8:15 AM and then take her right out to go to the bathroom. I do the same with Ozzy, however, he never needs to go at that time. He typically has to go to the bathroom around 10 (which is fine for weekends). But, since my wife and I both work (and leave before then), and our dog walker does not arrive until noon, how do we go about moving Ozzy's schedule up to 8:30 or so?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

what do you do at 8:30 to get your lab to poop? Or do you just send her (them) outside and she does her thing?

Personally I would try feeding abit earlier, letting it settle abit, then go for a walk. Often the exercise will encourage bowel movement. Alternatively a game of fetch or any physical activity can help.

Yoyo (our lab) is easy. I feed her, put on her leash and walk around for 2-3 minutes in a yard. She is automatic. I try the same with Ozzy, but spend closer to 15 minutes with him. When he doesn't go, I let him off leash to run around. I will try feeding him a bit earlier and playing fetch!

    thanks!

feed him at 6 or 7, if he needs 2 hours to "process things."
