Emmy returned to the surgeon's office Monday for X-rays of her right hip. I was pacing back and forth in the waiting room, praying that the implants and screws were still in place as this was her second surgery. Well, when I saw the surgeon's smile, I knew she was on the mend...He showed me her films of the implant, screws into the hip, and it showed new bone growing. The femur is sitting much closer in the hip socket. He was pleased with the X-ray and said he felt there is nothing she couldn't do in the future, including agility. Awesome! She has at least another month of being in the crate which is the safest place to be from my other dog that will T-bone her. Separation of the two is challenging. Emmy is allowed 5 minute walks without the sling. This will help her strengthen thigh and hopefully stop the "knuckling" of her paw. This too, has improved. Rest, sedation, and limited activity for almost 8 month old, Emmy. Yeah!
Sounds like a very good report. Good thoughts for good healing and recovery for your girl.
