    Thanks for the Dance........

WindyCanyon's Ima Pink Lady CDX SH OA OAJ CGC CC "Rosa" (2/15/99 - 8/20/08)
Tracking Cert'd, PSLRA Versatile Lab 2003 and mom to 16 wonderful puppies, including 5 PSLRA All Arounder / Versatile Labs
(Am/Can CH Cedarwood Gunner O' Fawnhaven CD SH CGC x Prince Peter's Royal Gala CDX JH CGC)
CHIC# 9145: OFA hips excellent, elbows normal, cardiac normal, EIC Clear, CERF annually since 6 weeks
Taken while still in her prime by someone's careless act, Rosa died tragically after ingesting strychnine poison at 9.5 yrs old. She enjoyed her last 3 mile "walkie" that evening with me, her mom, pups and grandpup, doing all the things she loved to do-- she swam in the Roza Canal, munched on new crop apples from the orchard floor, flushed up quail and doves, and enjoyed a wild "butt tuck" session with her beautiful granddaughter, Sonya.

Her memories and talent live on in her pups and grandpups.

You were always such a good girl, Rosa-- you certainly didn't deserve to die that way. I hope Dog Heaven has lots of birdies for you. Love, mom

    And now I'm glad I didn't know
the way it all would end,
The way it all would go.
Our lives are better left to chance,
I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance.

Anne, I'm so sorry your sweet Rosa was taken from you so soon and so cruelly -- but glad you have memories to cherish and her spirit living on in her children.

Thanks everyone. It's been almost 4 wks, and I'm still a mess. I have her mom here (still in great health) who turned 13 in the spring... I have been preparing myself to lose her, not Rosa.

I do think Rosa is watching over us at trials especially. I decided to go ahead w/ our competitions (agility, then JH, then obed yesterday) these past 3 wks to help me try to cope, and we've done super. I just know she's coaching her kids and grandpup, but dang, there is still a real emptiness here. I am having a real hard time taking my wingers out as she was always my test dog for SH set ups. :'( Anne
