    DefaultMy husband's lab Sadie

crossed over the rainbow bridge yesterday, April 24th, 2008. She was 13 years old. He bought her while we were dating and when we moved to our house, he left her with his parents and sister because they had become so attached to her. she had a few surgeries to remove a large fatty mass about 6/7 years ago but it kept growing back. when they took her into the vet yesterday, the vets did an x-ray and found a mass that was pushing into her liver and was inoperable. she had stopped eating all together over the last week and they didn't want her in pain anymore. they said she may have had the mass for over a year which would explain the lack of eating in the past 6 months. the parents and sister were with her when she passed. DH is devastated, as his his father and sister, who were the closest to her. i feel helpless because there isn't anything i can do. i have never heard DH cry so hard in all my years with him and it's heartbreaking. i can only hope that my grandmother is with sadie and they are playing up in heaven with eachother. run free sadie.

I am sorry for your loss - it is good though that Sadie is now free of her pain.

It makes me :'( everytime I hear that someone else's beloved pet has crossed over the rainbow bridge.

    ((hugs))
