The little stray played with Daddy's dogs in the park & followed right behind when playtime was over, undeterred by frequent instructions to "GO HOME!" Actually, this smart little puppy WAS following instructions; Daddy just didn't know it yet!
He became Sparky and was the kind of dog Daddy had always wanted. For 11 years they went everywhere together. Sparky stationed himself at the backyard gate when Daddy was hospitalized and patiently waited for weeks. How do you tell a dog his best friend will never return?
He & Luna came to live with me. What a serious (and sad) dog he was.
We grieved together, Sparky & I, and learned to face life without Daddy together.
He was never really mine . . . but I loved him with all my heart!
And I think he learned to like me, too.
Here is a link to his montage:
It's 3 minutes long, but I don't think you'll find it sad. It was meant to be a celebration of his life with us.
Losing him is like losing Daddy all over again.
Only now I'm grieving for two.
Thank you for listening.
That is a lovely montage you put together for Sparky.
And after settling in, he looks as happy and contented as a dog can be.
So sorry for you loss of your Dad :'( and now Sparky too. :'(
