    DefaultAssignment #9 Outtakes

Okay, so the first one here isn't an outtake.

This is more of a preview of what I hope to get for this assignment. I took this one two weeks ago when I was trying to do perspective. It was one of the ones that I tried in Auto/Action mode, so I cheated all around. The reason it blurred was probably the low (crappy) light situation there. I'm going to try to shoot one from manual mode for the assignment but I have another idea too.

This is exactly motion blur. Notice how the ball and pins are blurred and the background is sharp. The crappy lighting helped you get this great shot. It forced the camera to use a slow shutter speed.

I was hoping for a sharper background butit didn't work. It's all too blurry.

I'm having a harder time with this lesson as you can see from my outtakes!

I had the grandkids ride their bikes up and down their drive today. I just don't feel like the pictures show motion. Was my shutter speed still too high, or weren't the kids riding fast enough? I find it very hard to get the subject in focus. I must say they are tired now!

Linda, there's nothing wrong with this. The bike rider is in focus and the background is blurred. Yes, he isn't going fast enough for it to blur more.

I really didn't know where to go w/this assignment and had very little time.

Wanted to get an image of her wagging tail

not enough blur action going on? The pic I posted for #9 has lots of blur but don't know if this is what was supposed to be achieved. :-\
