    DefaultQUESTION CONCERNING ONGOING LESSONS....

We are thinking of doing ongoing lessons in a bit of a different format. We will open an Assignment Thread and you can choose to do it or not. Those doing it will get continued feedback as they work on the lesson (as these lessons will probably be more involved than simply taking a picture and posting it... we want to get into some post processing
    work, etc...)

Would you like to have more than one Lesson Thread open? We are planning one on shooting in RAW. And also beginning to use editing programs. We could open a third with another photo lesson as well.

With these threads you will have more than one week to do the lesson, and as I mentioned the lesson will be interactive with the instructor/mentors who will help you along the way.

Give us an idea if you'd like one, two, or three threads open for you to choose from. You don't have to do all the lessons, you can pick and choose if you'd like.

    Thanks for your input.

I like this idea. There will not be a "due by" date. When you get your picture, you will post it. We will then make recommendations, options, etc. You can reshoot the photo, and repost it for more help. When everyone has pretty much finished with their photos, we can close that assignment and open another one. Please tell us what you think. We can also do this as a challenge. We'll post a subject, have you shot it, and then help you get the best possible picture by shooting or editing.

I like the sound of it. I wasn't able to get this weeks assignment done because of time constraints. So a more open thread would be great!

I like that idea. I always feel guilty if I can't do an assignment. I didn't get a picture for the blurred motion assignment because of Abby's spaying. This would give us leeway with getting it done.

Georgie, you haven't run out of time for the blurred motion. See if you can't get one of Molly running across the backyard. As she's running, move the camera with her body (panning). This should have her infocus and the background blurred.

Georgie, I saw this before the other post. See that is a good blurred motion. We'll let you use it, if you can't get anymore.

Thanks Monnie. I am trying to keep Abby quiet. When I tried to get Molly outside, Abby started jumping up on the door. So I may have to postpone the dog's this week. :

I like the idea of having an 'open window' on our assignments. Thank you!

Anne, I love your siggy. Try cropping off a little of the left side. This will off center the dog and remove some of the distracting window. See if you don't like that better. I love how sharp the eyes are with great DOF. The secret to great shots of living subjects is to get the eyes in focus. This is great.

This may work great! Spring and summer arriving and I have been super busy.
