This weekend KS is supposed to be getting blizzards in the west, rain/thunderstorms/possibly tornadoes in the central and 50-60 mph winds everywhere.

If I want to go out and take pics (not in pouring rain, obviously), how can I protect my camera?

I didn't have to bring any work home for the weekend, so I REALLY wanted to take some pics. :-\

The higher end Canons are weather sealed. I believe from the 5D up they're weather proofed. If it's raining, stay inside. There are better waterproof jackets for SLRs than that one. Others are easier to use and less cumbersome. If it's windy, I'd avoid changing lenses outside. You don't want to introduce anymore dust into the camera than is necessary. I have shot in drizzly rain with my camera. I try to protect it and keep it under cover between shots.
