Rocky has come a long way since this first pic and is maturing into such a well behaved puppy ........although he does have his moments ;D. He retrieved his first duck Sept. 29th and is coming along quite well with his hunting.
Rocky is the darker of the three and trying his hardest as he learns from his mentors.
It is hard to believe that they grow up so fast. Looks like fun on the water.

He's a good looking lab ,those pic next to his feeding station are good for comparison.
Where do you hunt?
Duckhunting where Im at isnt to good due to we are in between flyways, mainly woodies and teal we get them all just no great numbers...But the gators are to many for me to a dog in the water. My last lab I used dovehunting for 3 years, not sure if Millie will hunt or not as I cant find a good bird club...But she is giving me inspiration to look, and I am working with her with wings and such.
Thanks for the compliment on Rocky. I'm from Ontario and hunt Long Point Bay on Lake Erie. It is a staging area for birds as they migrate south. No gators there! The woodies and teal have pretty much left the area now but we are starting to see a variety of other ducks including divers. I train Rocky myself as he is a family pet for 9 months out of the year and a hunting buddy for 3 months. I'm not interested in field trials so he is doing fine in the field for my purposes.Originally Posted by DogFish71
I really want to go on a good duck/goose hunt someday it looks fun...Doves are fun,but its still so hot in the early phases its almost to rough to shoot except an hour or two before sunset...Anyways good luck to the both of you!
I just love Rocky's puppy photo - so adorable - & he's growing up to be just as handsome!
The lake photos are awesome; I think Rocky's gonna be a great hunter . . .*
Rocky is very handsome. He looks like a statue in that first picture
