Here are a few photos of our new pup Dixie. She is such an awesome lil pup. It has been a long while since I've had a lab. I've totally forgotten just how smart they are.
She was house trained in less than a week. She goes to the front door and waits patiently. Never had to use the puppy pads even though she had a UTI. I just ended up using them for my shoes. Haha. She knows the kitchen is off limits and "Out" is all she needs to hear, once. She recalls to her name like she's known it for 10+ years. (We've just settled on a name in the past two days). She lets loose of anything with a "Drop it". She crate trained like it was nothing and plays so well with our kids. She is extremely gentle with our 7mo old (Rolls over to her belly and waits for a flailing hand), and respects my 4yr olds "comfort zones" (she doesn't like a puppy all over her when she plays). All within a week and a half. Oh and she sits and "waits" (as much as a wiggle worm puppy can) when its feed time. I just didn't want her mugging me, or whoever was feeding, when we set down the bowl. Our cat also thinks she makes a great bed. Haha
My only complaint? She snores!! Holy cow!! Louder than my husband!! Haha Also when she dreams, she turns into flailing puppy limbs, massive twitches, and full on barks or yips. Kind of a rude awakening at night. Haha

Thanks! I need to get better photos of her. These are just phone snap shots. I just haven't pulled my camera out of our truck. Horrible place for it, but haha.
She's such a pretty looking girl Love the chocolate labs, maybe one day I might get one That must be such a great feeling that shes so well behaved to at such a young age, your obviously doing something right
She's beautiful! Love the name, too
It's an awesome feeling. Especially since I was super apposed to getting a puppy right now. I was shooting for an adult dog. We have a soon to be 4yr old, 7mo old and pregnant with another on the way. But Dixie had the right temperament and energy level for us. She also played perfectly with our oldest, which was going to be the major deal breaker, so mom ended up caving in. Dixie just attached to our daughter while the others bounced off each other. Don't get me wrong, she is still EVERY much a puppy but she is so intent on getting praise and being with us that she settles very well for a 12 week puppy. It also helps that I'm a stay at home mom. So, she has constant attention from me and the our oldest. A tired and full puppy is a good puppy. Haha
This is my first lab and yes they are so easy to train and how can you resist those beautiful puppy eyes
