    But here we are again

Luna has turned 9 a month ago.

She had a health-check monday and it showed elevated liver enzymes, so I'm changing her diet. And then cataracts is slowly setting in.

Here's a few pics of her

    On her birthday:

    In march

December 28. we moved, and we've now got a garden. And Luna LOVES it. We've had loads of sun the last couple of days, and I took this picture yesterday

Jeanette and Luna. Sleep tight Oliver, our little kitty, thank you for 15 great years

I forgot to say hope the food helps her liver. Can they do anything for the cataracts?

No the only thing you can do about cataracts is operation, and they don't do that to dogs. But it is evolving (right word?) so slowly, that the dog just copes with it. I know of someone who has a 11 year old dog with developing cataracts, she has no problems at all, and its been there for a couple of years.

Hehe perhaps I should put in a request for a guide-dog for Luna LOL (We're only allowed one pet here, unfortunately).

Luna's been rawfed for about 7 years, but I will change to a good grainfree kibble and some homemade food, and the occasional raw bone. I want to keep her around for a good number of years yet :-)

No. That is why mine are so big. I keep meaning to redo it. You do it from you profile, but for the life of me I can't get it.

Hopefully with the way medical science is going they will find a way to help Luna.

Happy Birthday Luna, you look like a million bucks!

Labs and cataracts go hand in hand. As long as you dont change residences or move the furniture anytime soon, they'll just find their way around. My mom had cataract surgery when she was 90 years old so I would consider it fairly non-invasive but cost could be an issue on a dog.
