DefaultNew member and my new labs, Charlie & Beau

My partner and I got our two boys, Charlie and Beau, nearly two weeks ago. These are our first pets together and we love them already! This is a photo we took after their first walk with us.

Neither of us have owned labs before so have been doing plenty of reading on this forum and various places lately!

They're both beautiful! Congrats on adopting them. Do you know the history of their previous lives?

    Thanks guys!

Yes we got a bit of a rundown from Melbourne Animal Rescue before we adopted the boys, the poor guys have had a bit of a past it seems. The boys are Labrador x dogs, we were told one of the parents was a Labradoodle. They have had 3 homes already, originally for a year with an owner who reportedly kept them in a concrete yard with minimal exercise etc :-( They were rescued from there a little over 12 months old, and were adopted by a man for about a week who then decided he didn't want them after learning that Beau has mild Elbow Dysplasia (however not shown symptoms for over 12 months, and we are accepting of whatever that may involve down the track). From there a family who thought they were permanently migrating to Australia adopted the two. They gave the boys a great loving home for about 12 months, however recently found out they have to return to their migrant country for work and unable to take big dogs. This resulted in them being put up for adoption yet again, and that's where we stepped in.

They are absolutely beautiful dogs, so happy and accepting of us already and we adore them! Our biggest concern will be that they have some separation anxiety when apart from each other which we will have to address. However they are GREAT dogs, the usual lab energy and fun-loving, yet quite well-behaved - although need a bit of leash training work, mostly for my benefit being a small woman at times walking two dogs collectively weighing more than me. We have already taken them for heaps of off-lead walks around the few soccer/football ovals near us and they have loved it!

We look forward to sharing many years together with these two!

Beautiful boys! I'm glad they found a forever home, after reading their story. Keep us updated on how they're doing and make sure you post a lot more pictures!
