I must say that my little Jed is just about ready for Rally Novice. We still need to work on some things like Down and staying at heel (especially around the cones), but I think by the time we are ready to compete again in the spring, he'll be ready.
Cool. It's so much fun working with a new pup. I'm sure he'll be bringing home the blues and Q's soon!
How fun! I have always found it helpful to set a goal for when I will start to show in something new and work towards it - sounds like you'll be ready
What funny is that it's been years since we trained a pup, and something as little as "down" is challenging. Jed is still saying  without a treat to lure him down. I know in time, but it's still interesting to meet these little challenges and have to think about what to do to get over the hurdle.
It is fun working with a new puppy! Love watching them learn! Best of success!
