    DefaultSucess! Great first Trial

Rocky got his novice title today!! He really was excellent. Almost all our point deductions were my fault directly, the rest would be me indirectly (cuz it's always about the handler!) On our first leg I got lost in the spiral (did the full spiral TWICE, oops) and gave the incorrect hand signal TWICE for the sit/stand. Oops. So that was 9 points right there. The last round I got lost in the spiral 8 (but managed to pass the stations) and Rocky needed to have a good roll in the grass before doing a spiral At least he ignored the Llama standing outside the fence! LOL

The competition was not great, in fact only one other dog even qualified. So Rocky not only qualified all four legs, he came in first all four legs.

This was CARO - not sure if any of you have competed thru them. They are "supposed" to be harder than CKC/ACK. Points are out of 200, you need 170 to Q.
Leg 1 - score 184 (9 points were handler error as mentioned above)
Leg 2 - score 193 (woohoo! it was a great leg, two double commands and a repeated station)
    Leg 3 - score 188 (1 repeat and two double commands...and a tight leash I think)
Leg 4 - score 187 (2 repeats (one for the roll in the grass!), a handler error and double command)

I couldn't be more proud of Rocky, I couldn't ask for more really. I'm the one that needs more training haha

You start with 200 points. you have to finish with at least 170 to qualify for your leg (to pass). You loose various points for various things, example, tight leash is 1 point. Crooked sit is 1 point. Handler error is 3, redoing a station is 3...

WooHoo! Congrats on the new title.

Llama??? Did you say LLAMA??? Wow, that would have been a hard one for my dogs, I think they would have noticed a llama outside the ring. Good job!!
