We had a great weekend at our local USDAA agility trial.
Ruger really showed me what an exceptional dog he is. He was MISERABLE, suffering from sore eyes (ulcers) and an ear infection too! Poor boy ran courses sneezing and shaking his head.
BUT... he finished both his Gamblers and Snooker titles!!!!
He got a 4th and Q in Gamblers on Saturday, and a Q in Gamblers on Sunday. He also got a 2nd and Q in Snooker on Saturday, and Sunday as well.
Remington had a terrible day on Saturday (this was his first trial). We were entered in Standard, Snooker and Gambler. In all three classes he did the first jump and then ran across the ring, and out of the ring, to go visiting with people.
Sunday I decided not to expect much from him, my goal was simply to do more than one obstacle. Sunday morning in his Standard class he did the first jump, the next jump, the dog walk, headed into the tunnel, which was up against the rail, decided the people on the other side looked really friendly, and out the ring he went.
In his Gamblers class he finally stayed in the ring. We were able to gather about 18 points in the opening, and we attempted the gamble but did not make it, still I was quite proud of his run.
Then in Snooker he ran really well, the Remington I know and Love returned. He handled really well, I was even working a good distance from him sending him out to obstacles. We gathered up 19 points in the opening and even did the entire closing sequence, but ran out of time on the last obstacle. No Q, but a respectable 3rd place out of 20 dogs. I am very VERY proud.
Now we are all very tired and glad to be home!!!
Here's just a few of the pictures a friend took of Remington today... Enjoy.
