DefaultTraining For Agility... the Human way...

Well, don't remember if you remember my past post about how to get fit for agility.

I'm pleased to announce that I have gotten serious. I'm down 5lbs (want to lose a total of 10) and have been dutifully working out. My treadmill has a wonderful "Intervals" pre-set run. It warms you up and then gets you walking fast, then running at a good clip for one minute, back to walking, then running for one minute, it repeats this 8 times in a 25 minute workout. Let me state for the record, I HATE to run/jog. It about kills me, but I do it and tell myself that I CAN run for a minute. It's really a tough little workout for this old lady :death:

I can already feel a difference when I run on the course outside. I'm not nearly as winded... and... I'm sleeping much MUCH better as well.

Hopefully the added endurance will help as I'll be running six classes a day (and most likely back to back dogs, and Ruger and Remington are in the same Gamblers, Snooker class!!)

That's fantastic! Congratulations. I know how hard it is sometimes (esp in the heat) to run 2 dogs in the same classes at AKC events. Definitely need to be in good aerobic shape esp! Anne
