    DefaultSimon Rally Results Day Two

Well, again: WE'RE NUMBER ONE! (out of one)

But I was especially proud of Mr. Simon today. He scored a 98! Half of the Excellent B dogs NQ'd. Simon would have taken either second or third if all of Excellent had been combined.

Again, we had to Honor first. A good friend of mine was the Honor Steward. I asked her, "So, if Simon blows the honor, do we go ahead and run the course anyway?) She said that the rules had changed effective Jan 1: A blown Honor is no longer an NQ...it's an IP (10 points off). ;D So that took some of the pressure off!

We actually got a little lucky, and the dog we were honoring for ran out of the ring halfway through, so we had a nice, short time. And it was a down-stay, which is always more reliable than a sit.

So, today was a *really* hard course. Hard for Simon, anyway. It was chock full of exercises that are, um, not his best. And it had a nice high jump right smack in front of the ring gate. I was thinking ohhhhhh, we are toast. Not to mention the offset figure eight that was right by the honor dog. Throw in a stand, and a backwards one two three, and you have a nice Simon NQ cocktail.

The dog right before us NQ'd, so we were up more quickly than I thought. I did wait a little longer this time Lydia, but I was still up there a few moments too soon somehow. : The judge diddled a bit after he called us.

When we were starting out, I totally didn't have his attention. I kept getting it, losing it, and finally I felt like we just needed to go as I couldn't make the judge wait on us all day. :-[ But as we moved into the course, somehow, miraculously, he snapped to. We had a shaky moment at the corner with a right 270 when somebody decided it would be a good time to play with their squeaky ball right beside us. > Then another shaky moment going through the offset figure eight. I got a little louder with my commands both times, and squeaked us through it. :P

I was so proud of him! I really thought when we left it was possible we might have gotten 100. I was sooooo happy when he did the backwards one two three. He can get very blase about that one. It was our last exercise. I was tickled pink when he completed it and we finished. ;D

Yes it is 3 legs for the title of CD, CDX, UD, RN, RA, and RE. For the titles of UDX and RAE it is 10 legs.
