Well, we have two shows coming up in the next two weeks. March was FULL of shows that were close by, but I decided I should only spend the money to do two. So, here's what we're doing:
This weekend it's Simon in RE. The show is at an Ag Center about 10 or 15 minutes away. On dirt. We took Simon last year for one day and he did OK on the dirt, so we're giving it a try again. He was RN last year, though, so...? Hope he doesn't leave the ring on me! He did fine at a run-through at the club last week, and we'll have another run-through tomorrow night.
Next weekend it's Angus, attempting his first CD legs. Oh my gosh. I don't feel like he's ready, but I don't think I will honestly EVER feel like he is ready. I think he is as ready as he's going to get, put it that way. The great thing about this show is that it's at our training club! Yes, in the SAME building he has gone to class in every week since he was a puppy. So SURELY, surely he can keep it together in an environment this familiar!
ETA: I just got the judging program for Angus' trial next week. 8:00 am both days! That's good...will get us out of there early! Only 7 dogs in Novice A
Connie and "The Boys":
Angus, Yellow Lab, CGC, RE, CD
Simon, d.b.a. Flat Coated Retriever, CGC, RE, CD
Gone ahead, but forever in my heart:
Crash, Pit Bull x Rottweiler x Golden Retriever
Good Luck! Keeping our fingers and paws crossed that you'll get some Q's
Best of luck and have fun!
Good luck with both boys. We'll be thinking "green" thoughts for you.
8:00 am times - how great is that! Our clubs out here always seem to start with the most advanced and work down. So RAE first, RA and then RN; UD, Open, Novice, Pre-Novice.
Just remember to have fun - enjoy your day with the dogs and they will do great!
