    DefaultOh so close...

Lew was a sweetheart and took Caleb and me to the show this morning. We were in Utility first and he actually did his first go out! It was a thing of beauty, straight out with a perfect turn and sit. He waited until I told him to take the high jump and he cleared it perfectly. Second go out did us in though. But, I was pleased since we have not had one single go-out in the ring since we got our last UDX leg the end of September. We were working a nice score, too--.5 point lost on gloves, each artile and finish of moving stand and signals. Man, the rest is getting more and more consistant, just need those go-outs. In Open B I knew we would not fair well cause the judge likes really fast, animated dogs and that just isn't Caleb. We lost most of our points cause he was "too slow." But, all in all I'm pretty happy.

Isn't that the truth! But, my goal when I got him was the UDX.

Way to go on the first go-out!! It will come. I have heard it said many a time that the UDX title shows a dog that is consistant.

Woohoo on the go outs! Have you been keeping track of where the go outs in the order of the exercises? I'm wondering if Caleb's stresses more the longer he's in the ring. It sounds like go outs were first this time so he didn't have time to think about being stressed until the 2nd one.

Grrr, that really ticks me off. No where in the rules does it mention that the dog must work FAST. If the dog is constantly working, it should not be scoreable. I'd be writing a letter to the AKC about that judge. One of my friend's lost a UD leg because her dog is a consistant but slow worker (a rough Collie). He did every single exercise just not to a speed the judge liked so the judge pointed her out (scored 169 just to make a point with her). I'm sorry but if a dog completes every single exercise, they should Q period.
