    Defaulttitling question

When you get a title, do they notify the dog's breeder? Or is that up to you?

Hmm.... I don't know. I usually email Henry's breeder after any legs or titles! LOL!

No, they only send a certificate to the owner. So the only way the breeder know is if you tell them. Unless they are like me and also always looking my dogs and pups up on akc. ;D

I always contact Caleb's breeder and often the lady who imported his sire on his accomplishments.

I'm jealous of you guys with great breeder relationships - we don't have one (dispute over hip guarantee).

I was wondering because I just filed out an entry form and they always require breeder info- so I was wondering if they did anything with it or if it was just for catalog purposes.

Just general information for their records keeping and catalog

As others have said, they mail YOU the certificate. If you want the breeder to know, you tell the breeder. I do share my good news with my breeder as we are friends too

I tell Essy's breeder everything. She's as thrilled as we are with each accomplishment. She even posts about them on her website.

The breeder info that goes in the catalog is often used by people who are interested in your dog. They may contact the breeder, say they saw your dog, etc. or if they are interested in your dog (based on his breeding) they may contact you too. I don't think it happens often in obedience but definitely in conformation.

I've had several people ask me about my dog's breeder when they see him at shows. I've already told my breeder I should be getting a kick-back for all the advertising I've done for her
