the arena tonight to practice as we have a trial this weekend until.......
I passed the temp sign that said it was 105 out at 6:30 pm..got home and looked at the weather station and it said 101....to dang hot for me....not to mention the dogs...It is going to be a hot weekend all over the state it sounds like..hopefully it will be a little cooler on the other side of the mountains were the trial will be.

That is very hot. Be careful.
I can do hot, but humidity does me in.
We've actually been having a fairly good summer, temps in the high 80's low 90's most of the summer so far (still have to deal with the high humidity here, but it's better than 100 plus temps with the humidity).
Stay inside until it cools off a bit!
I did buy a battery fan last night to take with us and of course will take plenty of water and the boys cooling coats.
Way too hot for me. This summer has mostly been in the 70*'s here. Today it is supposed to get into the 80*'s and that will be the first time in July! Love it!

I've read recently that a good rule of thumb is to add the actual temperature and the humidity level and if the number is greater than 150, dogs should not be exercised as they can no longer displace their body heat well enough to cool off.
So if the temp is 93 and the humidity is say 83% the total would be 176, well over the 150 indicator.
Hmmm, not sure I really can agree with this as those numbers I've just put out are pretty much typical of our summers here and we work all summer long, but then again, our dogs are more accustomed to it I guess.
