Emilu and I are entering Rally Excellent, and Novice Obedience tomorrow - both 3rd legs for us and (fingers crossed) hopefully 2 new titles! Emilu however, has been a real butthead the last two days of training - it goes something like this - Me - "Emilu, stand" - she sits. Me - "no - "Emilu stand" - she lays down. Me - Emilu "stand" with big hand signal - she finally stands. Me - "Emilu down" - she sits! and on it goes. I took her to the college today to practice with some "distractions" She wasn't too bad, except when we heard a whistle - hard to get her back from that one - found out later it was SU doing it from a distance - no wonder she was distracted! Then some kids rollerblading down the steep road near us really freaked her out - she was scared of them - the ears went down and it took a bit to get her back. Then the "Pièce de résistance" - we worked on "off-set figure eight" for Rally (with the bowls of toys to heel around) In true Emilu fahsion - she acts scared to death of the bowls - not so bad except she almost totally stops heeling to stare suspiciously, with ears down and whites of eyes showing, at the bowls. You'd think I beat her with bowls of toys!!!! So please wish us a nice, non-distracted, "watch-me" day
Best of success to you Pat!
