Interesting. I've never seen that weave set up before. Do you just keep adding pairs? How do you squeeze the space up?

This is Susan Garrett's baby, using pure shaping.

start out with one gate (2 poles side by side), wide open, no angles

    | |

rewarding the dog for going through the gate. Once the dog is zipping through the poles, you add a second gate behind the first - again, no angles. Once dog is comfortable then, you start working the entry as a clock - making sure the dog is fine entering the weaves at any angle. Next you would angle the poles slightly,

    / /

and do the same - getting dog blasting through at speed at any angle.

then you're at the point we are, when you start angling the poles into a more traditional weave pole line. I'll add a third gate soon, and then start angling all 6 into a line.

Hello ! I have been lurking on this forum for a while, and your video prompted me to "go official" and join !

A couple months ago, I read Susan Garrett's book, and decided to teach my boy Clancy to weave using her method (we had no previous weave or agility training). It was really fun and went very quickly ...in about 2 weeks he was weaving 6 poles pretty reliably.

Here is a video I took when we were at the 4-pole stage ...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmD_iUX3E14

As you can see, he has a lot of fun with it ;D

I bet your pup will take to it like a duck to water ...

2x2's are taught just like channel's. You just change the "spread" of the channel by angling the 2x2's slowly as you angle a row of 2x2's into a straight line.
You could also train a threadle the same way. Start with 3 jumps in a row spaced about 8 feet apart ( l l l ) gradually start angling the jumps all in the same direction ( / / / ). Then keep gradually angling more untill they are all in a row ( - - - ). Threadles are just a dog weaving through the jump standards.
