    Defaulttrial results (updated with pictures)

Gabby was phenomenal in Rally Advanced- her mom was not. :

From talking to the judge afterwards, we were at a 99 until I walked right by a sign...which of course NQ'd us...Doh.

However, she was great. Head up, wonderful heeling and great attention.

Novice A was less than stellar- but we got third and a leg, which is good. She lagged and forged wide especially on the figure eight. She's been consistently better in practice though, which is the frustrating part.

She was very tired by the time she actually went in Novice- Open had 42 dogs, and they had divided the class into 5 parts, and then subdivided again. The judge decided to take a break after open- but didnt tell the novice people until they had started warming up, etc.- so Gabs got warmed up twice, after already having gone in Rally. Oh well- Today was not a bad day at all and hopefully tomorrow will be better.

The long days are really hard - even on the handlers. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for you, but it sounds like Gabby is doing great overall. Good Luck tomorrow!

Bummer on the missed sign. I don't know the rules that well (even though we compete) too bad that they didn't just take off 10 points for missing the exercise instead of the NQ. Anyone know rally well enough to comment on that?

You can go back to the missed sign before you start the next sign but once you have started the next sign you have NQ'ed the team.

Congrats on the good performance and the novice leg!! ;D

You guys did GREAT!!! I haven't had the courage to show Emilu in 2 shows in one day yet - I have been doing Rally Excellent one day and Novice A the next.

In retrospect, I probably should have done that- she's young (15 months) and doesn't have tons of stamina for high distraction events yet. For the trials that haven't closed already- the ones after next weekend, we'll probably try that.

    Yay Gabby and Laura!!!!

If it makes you feel any better, I'm like, 200% positive that I will miss signs in Rally. (I've actually watched rounds and said to myself, "Yup, woulda walked right past that." Eep. ;D)

Sounds like Gabby was a really good girl, congrats on the leg!! ;D
