DefaultSeeing green--- Good day at the trials!

Woohoo! I'm celebrating here big time today! Both Fuji and Mata, entered in Open obedience at the trials, qualified today. A friend once told me there are 69 ways to fail Open obedience, so I never go in and assume I've got it licked even if they are doing well in practice! The weather was PERFECT for my girls-- grey, drizzly, and cool. Hunt test weather, basically-- it invigorates them!

I had Mata in Open A (where I belong w/ both since neither had CDX titles), and Fuji in Open B (so she was at a distinct disadvantage not having the experience but I needed to separate the 2 so I could handle both myself in the group out of sight sits/downs just in case none of my friends were available to help me). Regardless, BOTH did super! This was Fuji's 2nd qualification-- she did great yesterday but failed by anticipating the drop on recall, so that was no go-- BUT, she looked great (really happy and "chipper") again today and made the whole thing click! One more to go for title for Fuji.

And Mata... my 2.5 yo "baby" in the ring comparitively... FINISHED her CDX w/ a 2nd place and 188.5 (we missed a couple finishes of all things!)! She's now WindyCanyon's Northern Spy CDX RA JH. Now I'll have more time and incentive to work harder this winter on SH and TD training. Oh yea, and she's debuting in agility in 3 wks. No rest for that little girl! -Anne

Ahhh see? The sun was shining for you (even though it was grey and drizzly).

Congrats on a wonderful job by all. I can't imagine having 2 in novice or open. I'd be a wreck. Now 2 in utility would not be a problem.

At the risk of being slapped by the conformation folks at LRC I hope next Thurs is a bit dreary in OR too! I have both the girls entered and Fuji COULD finish if she can hold it together. It'll be her first experience hotelling it though.....we need to drive over the night before since we have a 9 am ring time and it's a 4 hr drive. I also really had hoped they'd put Fuji after Mata as that jealousy factor helped alot, I think... but her number is one before Mata's unfortunately. I'm not sure if I can make her jealous enough by warming up outside the ring w/ Mata!

Thanks everyone!!! I have Fuji's 11 mo old daughter who will be ready for rally before too long, so needed to get some of these CDX's out of the way here! It's been tough deciding who can go where and when... -Anne
