I haven't heard anything about a Master obedience title. Were did you see that? The minutes aren't supposed to be on line until Sept. There has been a lot of discussion with a judge who is a member of the OAC board on one of the forums I belong to. According to her, 3 non regular classes will become titling classes. These are Pre Novice, Grad Nov, and Grad Open. They will be optional titling classes meaning that the club has the option of offering these classes and competitors have the option of titling in them or skipping them and going on to the traditional level (nov, open, utility)
They will create a new non regular wild card class but it hasn't been named.
Obedience Business Case
Based on a Strategic Plan tactic to increase participation in AKC Events, the staff
Developed an Obedience Business Case to address the decline in Obedience entries.
Phase I of the proposal includes:
1) Introducing of a new Obedience Master Title
2) Convert Graduate Novice, Graduate Open and Versatility to titling classes.
3) Introduce new non-regular Wild Card classes.
4) Introducing Regional National Obedience Invitational Qualifying Events
5) Change to the Fee Structure.
Upon motion by Dr. Davies, seconded by Ms. Scully, it was VOTED (unanimously) to approve the Phase I proposals of this plan effective January 2009, and to approve all the changes to the Obedience Regulations that are required in order to implement this plan. (The applicable Obedience Regulations are listed in the addendum to these minutes with changes underlined.)
