    DefaultA question about A/B classes...

In CKC rally, the A/B designation is on the dog, not the handler. In our trial on Saturday, there was a lady who ran 1 dog in novice A, and 2 dogs in novice B.

So, once a dog gets his Rally Novice title, he would then be entered in Advanced.. B? because he's got a title, right? So... my question is, who is running in Advanced A?? All dogs who go into Advanced must already have a Novice title.

Unless... it's only for obedience titles (CD, CDX, UD)?

    I's confused!! ???

I know in the States a dog with a RN but does not have any obedience title can stay in the A classes. When I was running Caleb for his RN and RA we were in the B classes cause he had his CD all ready. My friend who was with me this weekend was in the A classes with her Golden cause even though Jean had titled other dogs Gambi did not have a title. Actually she was in Novice B and then the A classes.

I would definately double check with one of your instructors but I would think so. Remember, what I said was for the States but I cannot say it is the same for you. Definately double check

In AKC, dogs that have obedience titles, dogs that have that level of Rally Title (ie stay in Adv for more practice before moving to Exc), and dogs going for RAE legs will show in Adv B. All others will show in A.

Since Murray had his obedience title before his rally titles, we showed in B the entire way thru. Essy doesn't have any obedience titles so she will show in A all the way thru. If she gets her CD at any time while showing in Rally, she will be required to show in B at that point.

Thanks Susan! Thanks Lydia! I'll be sure to double check, but I'll bet it's the same here!
