    DefaultRemington's First Match

Just signed Rems up for a B match July 15. It should be a hoot. I'm taking him in Pre-Novice and Rally Novice B.
I'm also taking Ruger in Utility A and B We need LOTS of practice.

Now I have to really concentrate on heeling with Rems. He's doing down stays, sit stays, and come and front and finish pretty well. Heeling... it's an attention thing And he bounces a lot too

How fun - Rems will have his UD by Christmas!!! I am sure Ruger will be a UD soon too. Can I ask what is probably a dumb question? Can you show Ruger in both Utility A & B because it is a match and not a trial? Thanks Linda for explaining that point for me. Betsy

I'm not sure. But I'm putting him in both classes. All they can say is no. But since it's a match to raise money for a charity, I figure the more entries they get, the merrier.

Thanks Linda - Your answer makes sense and you are right - its for a good cause and nothing to be "earned" but experience. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. B

It really depends on the club but in fun matches you can usually do just about anything including bring treats in the ring. Usually they will eevn allow you multiple runs in the same level class (A) depending on whether they have limits for the class or not.

I've only had one club that were a real PITA about their rules (and I won't give them my money again because of it). Meghan had just started training Essy. I wanted Meghan to get some extra experience in the ring so I thought I'd have her show Murray in Rally Novice and Novice obedience so she could just concentrate on the course/judge instead of what the dog was doing. Since Murray already had his RE and CDX they told me we couldn't do that. Then I tried putting Essy and Meghan in both Pre Novice and Novice and again was told no. It's a fun match people. What the hell difference does it make?
