Too bad they don't give 1/2 UDX legs!!!! :P Kona Q'ed in Utility with a 182 but tip toed through the broad jump (first exercise in Open today). Did everything else fine except was lagging in heeling on the figure 8 and I gave him a second command. We'll try again tommorrow.

NQ'ed in Utility today ........... signals and first article. When he brought back the wrong article I turned sideways and took it without letting him front. His go outs were really good and had a decent pivot to glove 3.

Last night I decided to increase his jump height in open to 24"(I had been jumping him at 22") so that the BJ would have 4 boards vs. 3 and he cleared all 4 boards without a problem. He did nick the HJ on the way out but not back. I may have to set him up further back to clear the higher jump.

Utility B was tough for all 9 of us ........... only one qualifier. All 9 of us Q'ed in Open B!! The best part of competing today was Phyliss Broderick completed her OTCH on Bell with a first in Open B today!!!! She only needed one point!! We all started cheering when Craig awarded her first ............... he did not know she was that close but quickly figured it out!! ;D

Sorry about the NQ in Utility. It certainly can be tough.

That is great that Phyllis completed her OTCh. Wasn't Belle the Springer that she had at the All-Star or is it another?

Sounds like a tough day for most dogs today. Congrats to the new OTCH team! How's Bo doing with his training?

Yes, Bell is the dog she had at All Stars.

Bo will start formal Obedience classes later this month. He has learned sit, come, let's go and down from a sit and from a stand. He also is learning stand. Long way to go but the journey will be fun!! One of the things he has learned fairly well is crate manners............. he is quiet when I teach and he is in a crate and is quiet at a dog show while in my truck.

I did take him to his first hunt test and he did well with the gunshots, duck calls and whistles.

Depending on how he does this summer and fall, he may debut in Rally Novice in Oct. at the Mid-Jersey specialty. Am I crazy!!?? :
