    DefaultRemington Recalls

Oh boy, teaching this kid has been fun and challenging.

I've only been doing a small amount of training, but today we added the formal recall. I sit him, tell him to wait, walk off about 15 feet or so, turn, call him to come. He does it very nicely and does a little finish around me at the end (for a treat).

I do it again, walking a bit farther out, perhaps 20 feet, and again I call him and he get's this big goofy smile on his face and lopes out to me, all legs and puppish, and sits in front, a bit too far back but still would Q. Does a nice little finish for his treat.

We do it once more. I sit him, have him wait, walk out, and as I'm turning to face him, here comes that lopsided smile and goofy boy comes loping across the grass to me without a command :

He's either too smart... or not the brightest bulb in the bunch. I haven't figured it out yet

That is how I feel about Caleb. He has been the most fun dog I've ever trained and the most challenging!

I think smart too. He's said to himself - two of these "waiting things" are enough - give me that treat now!!!
