    DefaultMore Woes With Ruger's Toes

Good news is... that outside toe wasn't broken. The vet checked it and he was fine the day the vet checked it (of course!)

Bad news... he tore the heck out of the inside toe pad on that same foot yesterday. It's nasty looking and he's limping, again. Ripped it on the concrete deck at the pool, had to have. The black pad it off on the inner most part of the toe and you can lift up on part of the pad as well.

I guess the only thing we can do is wait for time to heal it up.

    My poor guy!!!! :'(

Awww, poor guy. Belle used to do that quite often, but for some reason, in the last year or so her pads have bben very soft and supple and no torn pad problems!

    I hope he heals quickly!

    Poor Ru. :'(

On the positive side, I am continually amazed at how quickly these dogs heal. Murray ripped the pads on all 4 feet recently...just before a show. He had dime size/thickness pcs hanging off or missing completely. He was in so much pain that he couldn't walk. If he stepped on something, like carpet, that poked into one of those sore spots, he would collapse from the pain. Just to potty in the yard was excruciating for him. It was so horrible to watch. Within 3 days he was walking pretty much normally with just a slight limp even in the grass. : The limp was on the foot with the most trauma and he continued to limp for about 3 more days. Hopefully Ruger will heal quickly too.
