DefaultNew title! (with no help from my dog!)

Emilu and I got our Rally Advanced title today with a score of 92 - no placements. I was disappointed in her performance yesterday, but today was even worse. I got a nice attentive look right before the judge said forward, and that was it. She never look at me once after that, "wandered" somewhat close to me, and even refused the jump!!! She refused it because I don't think she even knew it was there, she was so NOT looking at anything. We redid it and she jumped, but that was it. It wasn't like she was distracted and excited by other stuff, she seemed droopy and disinterested. We were doing fine before we entered the ring. I am going to NEED HELP with this. She has always been very attentive in the ring, but not this weekend. And of course, this was the ONE show that I will probably get SU to, and he was taking pics.

Congrats on the title!! For the inattention I would not proceed with an exercise in practice until she gave you her full attention and then make that exercise very rewarding and fun. When I was competing with Kona in Rally I would wait him out for attention before we would move. Kona knows the "look" or "watch" command which I use with any heeling in any level.

LOL, I had the same problem with Maddy and the jump too. I had to redo it. It was the first sign....heel from start into the jump, I don't think she was ready for it.

But at least you got the title!!!!

She's pretty close to it. I was thinking something along those lines too - hope that's all it is.

I have seen that over and over again. It's like they can't think!

    Congrats on the title!

Attention is one of the hardest things to teach and to keep (trust me I know what I'm talking about ). Stick with it.

There is an agility dog, Dal, in my daughter's class that runs with her nose plastered to the ground. I'm constantly amazed that she even sees the jumps but she makes it over them will minimal effort. It's just amazing.
