    DefaultCaleb has redeemed himself...

a little. Mike and Linda (the same Linda that Betsy mentioned in another thread) worked us on our go-outs this morning. WOW! We're both pooped! They added some "resistance" training into the go-outs and sits. I had tried this before but Caleb just gave up but we've worked through that I think. Plus, added resistance to the sit in the go-outs. Same idea that I do for the sit/stays but I admitted I never thought about adding it to the go-outs! He did well at it.

Linda--tell Ruger we're planning on coming back down next January for the trial, so we can all compete together again! Unless you have Linda MacDonald as a judge then we can't.

Susan - Boy Linda & Mike always have such great ideas. Glad to hear that Caleb is back in your graces for now at least. B

I'm interested to know what the resistance was. I could use something like this for Ruger to help him understand that he HAS to do the exercise, whether he feels like it or not

Linda, it is the same concept as pressure on the lead for the sit, down and stand stays. I've done that for all those but never thought about adding it to the sit on the go-outs. I have him on lead and then if he does not run out, I get his collar and take him out without saying anything and sit him and add the pressure. Simple really.
