Well, we were in Open B first and he did ok in that. Lost 1/2 point on the heel free but had a major whinning fit on the ROH and lost 3 points there. OUCH! Plus, he had to mouth the bell! Couple of off fronts and finishes but without that whinning and mouthing we would have been right up there in the ribbons. Ended up with a 193 1/2.
Now, Utility was another matter. He did ok on the heeling and did stay on the signals but I had to verbally drop him. BUT, he did not try to run in to me. Good.
Articles, he dropped one on the way in, sniffed it again and then came the rest of the way in. Got me, other than he did not work the whole pile.
Gloves we lost a 1/2 point.
Moving stand was terrible!!! This judge did the most unique exam! He kept rubbing the dogs sides, up and down. Caleb thought he was getting "itchy butts" or something but started peeping and wiggling. We lost 3 points.
Go outs he ran out and came back in. Took four sits to get him sitting. BUT, he did not come all the way in again.
Thoughts--it has been a month since we were in the Utility ring. When we qualified it was two weeks after having been down to South Carolina. So, I certainly am not as discouraged as yesterday. We'll get there.
Well, at least you are keeping a positive attitude. Somedays, like today, I wonder why I'm wasting my time and money 8) Guess I'm a glutton for punishement. Besides, I truly like to be embarrased in the ring

You know, that is what is so good about it here--all of us at the same level to keep one another encouraged! Unless you have gone through all the pain of Utility, you just don't quite get it!Originally Posted by lcspt
