What a day! Caleb got me up at 6:30 to potty, so I threw my jeans and sweatshirt on over my jammies and took him out. Went to get back into my room and the door lock had frozen shut! We were locked out of our room for over an hour and a half! Our Open B ring time was 8:30. They finally got us back in and I hurried and got ready and fed him and got to the show as they were calling for us. The allowed a couple of other dogs to go before us in Open. Not pretty but we got a 193.
Utility was in the afternoon and we were second dog in. Signals we lost 2 points due to a wide about turn and some other minor things, but he did them. Stayed really nice and did them just fine. Articles we lost points on crooked fronts and finishes. Glove he was off on the pivot and finish and we lost 1 point. Moving stand he moved during the exam but did trot in. Minus three points. On the go-outs he actually went out looped around and acted like he was coming back in but he actually sat!!!! Just like what I saw down in Charleston, you could see his wheeles turning about what he was going to do. First jump was the bar on my right, which he likes. Second go-out I really thought he was coming back in but he did finally sit. He kept looking at the bar but he took the high and WE GOT OUR FIRST UTILITY LEG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We lost 6 points on our directed jumping due to the go-outs so we ended with a 186. That is our lowest qualifying score, but as my instructor said we know he can do it and we know that he can get that UDX since he qualified in both today with such stressful (for me) circumstances.
