We did it! Emilu and I got a 96 and first place in our first ever Rally Advanced A trial. We were there from 11:30 to 4pm. Only one little
growl at a Brussels Griffon (and he growled first) at the beginning, and then she was very good all day. Had a little trouble getting INTO the ring, cuz there were several large dogs standing there, and apparently Emilu knew them in another life because she had to greet them all and I couldn't get her attention to enter the ring. I bet the judge thought "oh boy - this ones going to do well : " - but in true Emilu style - once she got in the ring, she turned her attention to me and got going. We got 2 points off for "out of position" on our "stand, walk around dog" because she stood at a 90 degree angle to me, but I decided to let it go because we had been having some trouble with the stand before the show, and I didn't want to push it. A redo would have been 3 points, so I guess I picked right. Then, toward the end we got 2 points off on a "halt, 180pivot,halt" because nervous Emilu had to stop and have a good collar scratch - with her butt sticking out - another out of place. Lots of clapping and congrats for us Now the clincher............
We were the only ones in Advanced A :P So our first place wasn't against any competition - but I am very please with the score anyways, and with my spoiled, fat doggie ;D
Congrats to you both..
PS you don't have to tell anyone that there wasn't any other dogs in your class when you tell them you got the blue..*G*
[email protected]! Ohh, you really had me going there, thinking you had beat all these other teams! But hey, with a score like that, you very well might have done so anyway! Bring 'em on!
Congratulations! And a special congrats from me for getting her back after the going into the ring divide of attention. Simon never recovered from that on that last day we were competing. Hence our NQ. :
Woo hoo! One down, two to go!

Pat - Good for you. First place and so what that you were the only A team. When you tell others of your success no need to mention that. I'll bet the judge wasn't any more forgiving because you were the only Advanced A competitor. Sounds like you both had a good time and that's what is really important. Betsy
